The purpose of the Flower Guild is to decorate the church to the Glory of God with colour, and beauty for the weekly Sunday Services, and also on special occasions during the church calendar. Members are joined by the congregation to help decorate the church window sills and shelves for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Advent. Flowers are an important part of our celebrations; for example, pink carnations are given to each lady on Mother’s Day and boutonniers are made and given to the gentlemen to wear on Father’s Day. A wreath is made for the Remembrance Day Service, and laid in the Memorial Garden.
Donations of money for altar flowers to celebrate an occasion or a Memorial dedication to loved ones are gratefully received. These funds help with the purchase of flowers, especially during the winter months and for other flower arranging needs.
