From the Rector's Desk

As you all know, Kat is still on leave after her surgery and will be away until November 14th. This will be my last week in the office before my two weeks' vacation, and I too will be returning on the 14th. So things will look a little different in the next two weeks in the office. While I am away, the office will not be open its regular hours. That being said, I am thankful that Martine has agreed to check the office emails, Jean will check phone messages and Marg will check the snail-mail box periodically during this time to be sure that immediate concerns are dealt with in a timely manner.

Also, it is with great joy I can say that the Rev. Susan Hermanson is going to be with you on Sunday Nov. 5th and 12th. After her time with you all in August, Rev. Susan spoke highly of her time here and was happy to be asked to come back again. So be sure to give her the warm St. Mary’s welcome that I know you are so good at giving! Apart from the service, if something comes up, please contact the wardens and, in particular, contact Elaine if you need any pastoral support and she will get you in touch with Rev. Susan.

Because the office will not be fully staffed for the next two weeks, there will be NO NOTICES until Kat’s return the week of the Christmas Fair. There will also be no recording of the services, as there will be no-one on hand to upload the recording and send it out to the parish. While we all know that these are two very helpful ministry tools in our community, we simply do not have the people power to handle them at this time. However, both the weekly notices and the emailing of recorded services will resume mid-November when Kat and I are both back in the office.

I know that you will be in good hands in my absence and when I return we will all be ready to jump into the Christmas Fair and prepare for Advent and the season of Christmas!

Love and Prayers,
Kirsten +

Note from our Treasurer

If you are wanting to be reimbursed for a church expense, please complete a Reimbursement Request form, attach it to the receipt or invoice and place it in the purple folder on Kat’s desk (by her monitor) for approval. The request forms can be found under the window at the front of the file box. If you have any questions or concerns please speak to Jennifer or Marg.

Christmas Fair Update

Well, we only have three more weeks until our Christmas Fair, and excitement is building. We continue to accept donations for Attic Treasures (no clothes please) and the ever-popular Christmas Pleasures.  The Art and Soul Gallery gifts has some wonderful art and artiste creations but we can always accommodate more, if you would like to share your talents. For more information, please speak to Rita or come join the meeting on Wednesday November 1st at 10am in the hall.
