FROM THE DESK OF THE RECTOR

When the world is reeling from so much pain and there is increasing “enemy-making” thinking and behaviour, we need to pray, and practice being still - to be willing to listen and work to keep our hearts open. This quote from the late John O’Donohue expresses this beautifully – the hope and knowledge that God’s kindness and compassion is never absent, always with us, and will guide us if we allow God the space to act in our lives and relationships.

There is a kindness that dwells deep down in things; it presides everywhere, often in the places we least expect.
The world can be harsh and negative, but if we remain generous and patient, kindness inevitably reveals itself.
John O’Donohue, Benedictus

Reaching Out, Welcoming In
Because of the pandemic, we have not been able to offer our monthly Community Dinners. What else can we do to build community and support people in need in Nanoose while respecting the current COVID restrictions? Would you like to be part of a brainstorming session?  Please email Selinde indicating your interest, and she will set up either a ZOOM or in-person meeting depending on the response and any new directives from Dr. Bonnie Henry and/or our bishop.

Flower Ministry and 'In Memory of' Dedications

Each Sunday, you will see stunning flower arrangements in the sanctuary created by various members of the parish.  If you would like to participate in this ministry, please contact Elaine to learn more. And if you would like to make a donation and dedicate flowers on a particular Sunday in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a special event, please either let KAT know or fill out the 2021 Altar Flowers sheet to be found on the table at the entrance of the church before you enter for the service.   After the service it will be on a table on the ramp. Please let KAT know the wording of the dedication for the bulletin.

     KAT NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Our Prayers of the People/Scripture Readings sign-up roster
is looking quite neglected!  Can you please sign up on the sheet at the entrance of the church before the service.  The sheet will also be available after the service on a table on the ramp.  We need two 'bubbled' people per service.  And what is “bubbled” you ask?…it is either a couple or two individual readers who are comfortable reading together.  One will do the psalm and prayers of the people while the other does the scripture readings.
